Upper Blepharoplasty

Patient that Just Had an Upper Blepharoplasty

Our surgeons’s philosophy is to provide a refreshed look while making sure that you still look like your natural self. In upper blepharoplasty, his goal is to create a non-surgical or natural post-operative appearance while preserving the blink mechanism and insuring adequate eyelid closure. He accomplishes these goals by employing techniques such as appropriate skin excision, tailored fat removal, and preservation of the orbicularis oculi muscle whenever possible. He personally tailors each patient’s surgery to your own needs, desires, ethnicity, and individual anatomy.

This procedure is appropriate for both women and men, yet must be planned differently for each gender. Blepharoplasty in men must be performed differently than in women. In men the incision is usually marked lower on the upper eyelid than in women. In addition, more conservative excision of fat is recommended in men.

Upper blepharoplasty is often covered by insurance if the skin hangs over the eyelid to block the pupil and affects the peripheral vision.
