Dr. Ryan Taban, M.D., is a Board Certified and Fellowship Trained Ophthalmologist who specializes in Cataract and Glaucoma surgery.  He provides comprehensive eye care ranging from complete medical eye exams to complex anterior segment surgery.  He also is a Glaucoma Specialist, utilizing the latest diagnostic and surgical techniques to treat complex Glaucoma patients.

Dr. Taban earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from UCLA, where he was a Cum Laude graduate and member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. He received his medical degree with multiple honors from the St. Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Summa Health System in Ohio, where he served as Chief Resident.

Following his residency, Dr. Taban completed a fellowship in Glaucoma at the internationally renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. There, he received specialized training in advanced surgical techniques to treat Cataracts and Glaucoma. Dr. Taban was a clinical instructor in the UCLA Ophthalmology department, training medical students and residents in the medical and surgical management of Glaucoma. He was honored as the Allergan Glaucoma Fellow and Vernon O. Underwood Family Fellow for his achievements at Jules Stein.

Dr. Taban has been named to the Southern California Super Doctors list for many consecutive years, which honors the top 5 percent of Ophthalmologists in the area. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Taban uses the latest technology and methods to provide general and specialty eye care to his patients.
